3A students combining Spanish with Science on the human body

Students in third grade are so engaged and are having fun working on a collaborative project combining Spanish with Science. Working alongside Mrs. Borsch and watching students understand the skeletal system is inspiring. Students are beginning to understand the functions of the body and their importance. Integrating Spanish and Science into the project has added an element of creative thinking. In groups of two or three students helped one another trace their bodies and then began adding the skeletal and muscular systems. Every bone and muscle has been labeled in both English and Spanish. They will continue adding the nervous system, respiratory, circulatory and digestive systems.
